A JOURNEY THROUGH MUSIC IN ARCTIC WATERS

USHANT - INVERNESS - SVALBARD - TROMSØ - BODØ - HEMNESBERGET - RØRVIK - TRONDHEIM - KRISTIANSUND - ÅLESUND - BERGEN - STAVANGER - KRISTIANSAND

OUR TOUR IS MORE THAN MUSIC - IT’S ABOUT RETHINKING THE ROLE OF ART IN A WORLD FACING CLIMATE COLLAPSE.

NORWAY, A COUNTRY NAVIGATING THE TENSION BETWEEN OIL EXPLOITATION AND PROGRESSIVE IDEALS, PROVIDES THE PERFECT CONTEXT FOR THIS EXPLORATION.

FROM THE PHILOSOPHIES OF ARNE NÆSS TO THE HARSH REALITIES OF SVALBARD, WHERE CLIMATE CHANGE IS MOST EXTREME, WE’RE INSPIRED TO PUSH FOR RADICAL ACTION. THIS ISN’T A TRADITIONAL TOUR.

WE’LL BE PERFORMING IN UNCONVENTIONAL SPACES, SOMETIMES FOR FREE, BECAUSE WE BELIEVE MUSIC SHOULD NOT REVOLVE AROUND PROFIT. THE CAPITALIST NORMS OF TOURING NEED TO DISAPPEAR; INSTEAD, WE’RE FOCUSING ON SUSTAINABILITY AND CONNECTION. THIS IS ABOUT PROVING ANOTHER WAY IS POSSIBLE, WHERE CREATIVITY THRIVES WITHOUT EXPLOITATION.

WE’LL SHOWCASE QUINQUIS' EOR, A MODERN CLASSIC OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC, AND YANN TIERSEN’S RATHLIN FROM A DISTANCE | THE LIQUID HOUR DOUBLE ALBUM.

yann tiersen

Yann Tiersen is an artist who defies categorization. While many may associate him with the Amélie soundtrack, his music has long transcended those origins. Seamlessly blending acoustic and electronic elements, Tiersen crafts otherworldly soundscapes that are both deeply emotive and profoundly transformative. His inventive approach continues to surprise, making every album and performance a singular and unexpected experience. With his latest release, the double album Rathlin from a Distance | The Liquid Hour, Tiersen delivers what may be the most defining work of his career. Divided into two distinct halves, the project captures the depth of his artistic vision and personal evolution.

Rathlin from a Distance is a solo piano album born from Tiersen’s 2023 sailing tour, named after places visited from Ireland to the Faroe Islands. It’s a quiet, introspective exploration of self, identity, and the fluidity of gender—a meditative journey that resonates with simplicity and emotional clarity. In contrast, The Liquid Hour is a call to arms, a striking collection of electronic anthems designed to inspire courage and focus. It’s an urgent response to the capitalist destruction of the world, offering music as a rallying cry for action and change. These tracks are made to energise, to be played loud, and to remind us that concentration leads to revolution. With this double album, Yann Tiersen reaffirms his place as one of the most inventive and important artists of his time—an uncompromising voice in music and beyond.

quinquis

QUINQUIS is redefining the boundaries of Celtic music with a sound that is as rooted in history as it is relentlessly forward-thinking. Singing primarily in Breton, the Celtic language of her ancestors, QUINQUIS crafts music that feels both timeless and entirely new a delicate, ethereal blend of tradition and avant-garde innovation. With her astonishing new album eor, QUINQUIS has reached a career-defining moment. Produced by the legendary Gareth Jones, eor stands as a modern classic, an album that pushes everything further—emotionally, sonically, and creatively. The record’s shimmering electronic landscapes and deeply personal melodies reveal an artist unafraid to explore new terrain while staying connected to her roots.

Adding to eor’s brilliance are its breathtaking collaborations. South African vocalist Desire Maria contributes an otherworldly performance, singing in Zulu and infusing the record with profound cultural resonance. Meanwhile, Welsh artist Cerys Hafana brings her singular artistry to a spellbinding track, weaving modern textures with echoes of ancient traditions. Together, these collaborations amplify the album’s ambition and emotional depth. With eor, QUINQUIS isn’t just pushing boundaries—she’s redrawing them entirely.
